A winter festival in Colorado is the perfect excuse to mess around with unconventional concepts. It is no secret that temporary structures have taken the pole position when it comes to bright new ideas. and often the spores of future permanent architecture is to be found here.

Aisle or window? Here a hybrid between a chromed American Airlines vintage plane meets the sensuous interior of a private jet. It's at the same time ultra austere and mega plush. Festival goers come and go through the classic airplane opening and take their seat in velvety red furniture. Chrome cocktail tables multiply reflections inside, and a piano keeps the crowd entertained.
In another corner of the event, a winter garden has been represented in miniature. A smart white metal structure floats several steps above the snow. Glass traps heat providing visitors with much needed respite from the biting Colorado winter weather. Palm trees, fruit trees, orchids and cacti in a hodge-podge of pots people the space.

The aesthetics of the mehcanic's shop and the express carwash are exploited in this automobile-related pavilion. The artificiality of the yellow plastic bands contrast sharply with the beauty of a snowy landscape. One goes in and out in the same way a vehicle leaves an industrial facility. Plastic helps regulate temperature inside, and is transluscent enough to let both light in during the day but also turns this pavilion into a latern when the sun sets.
